Goodbye Borris (temporarily)

If in Cape Town you had to witness someone casually cycling on the streets in the middle of a blizzard, you would for sure believe that that person has completely lost the plot. Whereas here, in this European beauty of a city, it's the norm. The weather simply cannot be used as an excuse to stay inside, as tempting as it may be. After a full day of lectures I experienced my first twenty-minute rainstorm cycle back home. Earphones in, raincoat zipped up to leave only my eyes visible, soaking wet boots and Michelle right behind. It was an experience which I am bound to relive countless time in the following months and one which I welcome with open arms. My patriotism was also severely sparked on Saturday when I walked into a laid-back bar called Coco's ad set sight on Savannah Dry's and green jersey's and was one of plenty South Africans cheering for the Springboks in a bar in the middle of Amsterdam - An excellent display of South African victory (coming from a rookie rugby follower).

Academics is well on it's way. But that isn't stopping Michelle and I from jet setting. So tomorrow morning at 11:30am we are hopping on a bus to Paris. No expectations. Infact because I'm still in a mild state of bewilderment over the fact that I'm currently living in Europe, it's even harder for me to fathom the fact that I'l hop from the Netherlands to France, in 7 hours by bus. Despite the fact that our time is limited in France - time will be seized as best it can.
